QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceMaster's degree in Counselling, Social Work or Child and Youth Care; andTwo (2) years' recent, relevant experience in bereavement counselling, and two (2) years' experience providing counselling to children and youth; and Current registration and licensing with a regulatory body, for example, BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC); andValid BC Driver's License. An equivalent combination of training, and experience may be considered. Skills And AbilitiesAbility to apply the philosophy of anticipatory grief support, and bereavement care in counselling. Ability to work effectively and supportively with children, youth, and families, one on one, and in groups Ability to deal effectively with others including families, colleagues, and relevant outside agencies. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated computer skills (e.g. MS Office). Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development for self, including self-reflective practice.
