Responsibilities Batch and issue shop drawings to fabrication plants Learn to use computer programs such as JDEwards, Strumis and BluebeamIssue purchase orders for miscellaneous project purchasesRecap projects weekly to ensure all materials required for upcoming batches are received on time for fabricationProcess shop paperwork related to consumption of inventoryProcess revised shop drawingsNest steel into purchasable lengths / bundles to ensure efficient buying / material usageExpedite and arrange the pick-up or delivery of purchased items while keeping in mind project schedulesWork closely with the Procurement Specialist to purchase steel for projects from ABM (Advanced Bills of Material), field bolt lists or requisitions.Technical Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word & Excel Experience in the Steel Industry would be considered an assetBusiness RequirementsExceptional time management and organizational skillsDesire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environmentCultural RequirementsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills A team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, Ocean Steel offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
