Together, we are EXP.Are you ready to design your future?Be our next Mechanical Engineering Student (Co-op)Your work environment at EXPJoin our Mechanical/Electrical Infrastructure team in Sudbury and gain hands‑on experience working alongside engineers and technologists on real infrastructure projects. As a co‑op student, you’ll receive mentorship, exposure to design and field work, and the opportunity to grow your technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.This role is ideal for students who are curious, detail‑oriented, and looking to apply classroom learning to practical engineering solutions.What a day at EXP has in store for youUnder the guidance and supervision of senior mechanical engineers or a project manager, you will:Assist in preparing design packages, including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts, and schedulesHelp prepare technical documentation, such as concept reports, meeting minutes, specifications, and contract administration materialsParticipate in site surveys with senior staff to document existing conditionsSupport basic mechanical system calculations (., heat loads, equipment sizing) with coaching from senior engineersGather information from suppliers, assist with equipment comparison, and help with preliminary equipment selectionsAttend construction site meetings and observe field coordination with senior team members.Contribute to system level design tasks and provide general project support as needed to keep projects moving forward What your experience looks likeCurrently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology programInterest in mechanical design for buildings, infrastructure, or industrial systemsFamiliarity with AutoCAD; interest in learning Revit MEP is an assetStrong attention to detail and accuracy in both design and documentationProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Project is a bonus)Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn from senior staffReliable, organized, and able to manage multiple small tasks with guidance This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.The hourly range for this role is between $21 - $24.
