Grader Operator

Key Information:

Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in equipment.Must have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and work positively within a team to achieve a common goal.Hours: Project dependent. Overtime is required during the busy season.Must be willing to working evenings and weekends when needed.Hourly rate is dependent on experience.Health benefits and vacation pay offered.

Job Description:

A minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Finish Grader OperatorAble to finish sub-grade stabilize, gravel and other surfaces within sub-centimeter tolerances in preparation for asphaltAbility to work safely and always stay alert to surroundingsAble to cut grade against concrete, grade stakes, asphalt, and other jobsite structuresExperience with other construction equipment considered an assetAbility to communicate with grade checker and act upon information receivedPerforming routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipmentAssist foremen of any issues or repairs required on assigned equipmentAssist crew with all other site activities as requiredPhysical strength, stamina and coordination to complete assigned dutiesAbility to withstand working outside on uneven ground for long periods of time and in varying weather conditionsMust ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with, the principles of the company's Code of Ethics.Use of personal protection equipment is required.Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear required when working outdoors.Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol policy, including testing requirements.Maintain positive company image.Other duties as required.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

Minimum 3 years' experience in heavy civil earthworks, construction, Proven experience with technical specifications, grade plans and building roads.Experience working on all types of ground conditions, including soft ground.Ability to finish or trim would be an assetConstruction Safety Training Systems (CSTS 09 or 2020), WHMIS 2015, and ground disturbance 201 are required.Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.Valid class 5 or better driver's license with clean drivers abstract valid within 30 days of employment.You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and work positively within a team to achieve a common goal.Leadership for Safety Excellence. (LSE Proficiency level certified)Proficient English language skills required.Reliable means of transportation required.Time management skills.Accuracy. ConfidentialityEthics and integrity.

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
