Description: As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).Additional Required Qualifications: This is a laboratory only position. The successful candidate should have good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Ability to operate technical instruments and equipment daily and assist with equipment maintenance. Participation in training of new staff. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and ability to work independently. Performing all required Quality Control procedures, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Investigating and documenting Quality Control problems and following up with Charge Technologist. Following all established policies and procedures for performing and reporting various laboratory procedures using manual and automated processes. Troubleshooting and documenting technical problems and contacting service, as required. Must be able to represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional, and courteous manner.Preferred Qualifications: Core lab experience within the last 2 years and phlebotomy experience. Laboratory Experience operating the following analyzers: XT3400 Chemistry analyzer, Access II, ACL Elite Pro, Sysmex XN550, Clinitek Advantus, and experience with ID-MTS gel system for Transfusion Medicine. EPIC LIS experience preferred.
