You as a Senior Accountant will: Serves as a key member of the accounting team Ensures accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple entities Leverages strong technical expertise and attention to detail Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide insights that drive informed business decisions Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations. Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required by management. Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices. Major Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities. Compliance: Ensure adherence to ASPE and internal accounting policies and procedures. Audit Support: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation. Controls & Procedures: Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Journal Entries & Working Papers: Review and prepare journal entries and supporting working papers for various entities. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Capital Assets: Maintain various capital asset schedules including large fleet of construction equipment. Book monthly entries for depreciation, new capitalizations, significant repairs, and dispositions. Inventory: Assist with the initial and ongoing valuation of inventory for OEM parts, construction consumables, aggregates, other. Is this the right role for you? You have 3-5 years of experience required, preferably in the construction industry Degree/Diploma in a related field, as well as CPA or CPA Candidate (PEP) You possess strong knowledge of ASPE and GAAP, financial reporting and analysis, tax compliance (PST, HST, GST, multi-province), audit preparation and support, balance sheet reconciliation and internal controls and process improvement Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) Experience with ERP systems/accounting software (e.g., Explorer) Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) You demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. You demonstrate the ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and can manage tight deadlines.
