We offer competitive wages with a full benefits plan, as well as optional RSP plans.The OpportunityWe are currently looking to hire a Journeyperson Welder for our manufacturing facilities in Slave Lake, Alberta. Job duties include:Operating flame-cutting equipment to cut metal in a safe and efficient mannerFabricating parts and structures by bending, cutting and binding together metal componentsReading and interpreting work orders including welding specificationsPerforming minor maintenance duties such as shortening chains or replacing beltsStocking torch carts and auditing that equipment is in safe, working conditionCompleting all required paperwork including hot work permits, hazard assessments and work ordersWorking Conditions:Exposed to noise, dust, falling debris, moving machinery, weather extremes, splinters, slipping and tripping hazardsLifting heavy, awkward objects and climbing on equipment may be requiredRequired use of PPE appropriate for the task and working conditionsMust have:A solid work ethic, be eager to learn, and be a team playerJourneyperson Welder certificationA minimum of 3-5 years of industrial experience, preferably working in a sawmillProficient written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work at different heightsThe desire to work a Thursday - Sunday shift scheduleIf this position sounds like a fit for you, please apply directly through the portal.We thank all candidates for their interest; only candidates selected to advance in our recruitment process will be contacted.
