Job DutiesWe are looking to recruit an experienced geostatistican who will bring their expertise to the cutting-edge science behind one of our fastest-rising cloud applications. This role is where complex geostatistical algorithms meet the distributed nature of cloud infrastructure. Create and maintain new cutting-edge complex geostatistical algorithms in a cloud infrastructureFine-tune existing algorithms for accuracy and performanceWork with microservices to code complex algorithms in Java and utilize Restful APIsStrong technical communication abilitiesMaintain a high level of quality through coding best practicesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging technologiesCommunicate and escalate issues in a clear and timely mannerQualifications10+ years of geostatistical related experience and software development experienceBachelor’s Degree or higher in Geosciences, Geology, Geophysics or Reservoir EngineeringStrong foundation in spatial statistics, variograms, and simulation techniquesProficiency with Geographic Information Systems (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)Strong experience with coding geostatistical algorithms using JavaStrong experience working with microservices, Restful APIs, Docker, and other cloud technologiesExperience working in an Agile software engineering environment with scrum teamsPrior leadership experience is a plusFast learner with excellent written and verbal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary multi-cultural team in different time zonesAdvanced awareness and understanding of AI technologies/toolsFamiliarity and understanding of modern cloud technologies and microservices Desirable AttributesAI/ML work experience and machine Learning technologies (Python, TensorFlow etc.)Experience in Oil and Gas Domain Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.
