OverviewTRC is seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager to join our Civil, Municipal and Facilities team in the Calgary, AB office. This career-oriented position requires providing operational, permitting, compliance, design, and construction services to a wide variety of clients. You will bring expert technical knowledge, an entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen and a desire to develop a thriving civil practice to grow TRC’s Canadian presence. You will assist our existing international clients as well as develop and foster relationships with new, local clients. Our engineering staff provide engineering design and technical support on challenging projects including water and wastewater municipal infrastructure, site design and land development, roadways, renewable energy and industrial development. In this position, the successful candidate will apply their existing knowledge to develop and increase TRC’s presence in the Calgary market. The candidate will develop staff while working as part of a dynamic and fast-paced team. The ideal candidate has experience leading and executing design deliverables and is an expert project manager. A desire to work with internal business development professionals and senior managers to establish and grow a sustainable client base is required. This position will also assist our . clients. ResponsibilitiesFostering relationships with new Calgary based clients, engage in business development efforts, including being active in professional organizations.Use your knowledge and understanding of the engineering consulting business to develop a competitive civil engineering practice.Manage the work performance for multiple dynamic projects, develop solutions to project challenges, and communicate proactively with senior executives.Oversee all technical and design aspects of land development, municipal and industrial projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater and roadway systems, grading and erosion/sedimentation plans in accordance with applicable local, provincial, or federal regulations.Attend and present project designs and applications at various Planning Board meetingsWork with designers and permitting specialists to prepare civil site design packages for a wide variety of projects supporting private developers, commercial/industrial facilities, and municipal infrastructure that comply with applicable local, provincial and federal regulationsManage tasks and delegate tasks to staff and subcontractors.Prepare and manage budgets, schedules, invoicing, subcontractor procurement and oversight.Oversee fieldwork and contractor oversight to perform construction quality assurance.Assist clients in addressing their project development challenges and goals by working with project teams across multiple disciplines to perform site-specific analyses and assessmentsApply quality assurance and quality control proceduresWork directly with clients professionally and display a service-oriented attitude QualificationsA minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience with Professional Engineering APEGA licenseUndergraduates Degree in Civil EngineeringWell regarded in the Calgary municipal development market.Experience overseeing and developing a civil engineering group or practice.Ability to make decisions and perform as an independent thinker and leader, but also collaborate with project team personnelStrong technical writing and data management, organizational, and communication skillsExperience with the development and implementation of infrastructure technical plans, designs, and specificationsExperience independently analyzing and interpreting data regarding site uses and topography to develop infrastructure management plans and best management practicesA strong understanding of local, provincial, and federal level permitting for a variety of development types including infrastructure permitting and town/city site plan review applicationsClient service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Position Requirements:. civil design experience desired.Experience in performing engineer’s estimates of probable cost for infrastructure, land development, and roadway activities utilizing both RS Means and contractor contactsExperience performing construction monitoring and oversightProven direct infrastructure, and roadway contractor working relationshipsBenefits*: TRC offers a competitive benefit package consisting of:Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance.401k package that includes both traditional and Roth IRA options and Company match.Paid time off contingent upon full time or part time status and level of seniority (ranging from 15 to 25 days per year).All full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 8 Paid Holidays per year.TRC ensures that all employees, including those that work part-time, receive paid sick, family, and disability leave in accordance with the laws of their state of residence.*These benefits are applicable to US employees depending on their employment status (full time, part time, or temporary).
