EHN Canada prides themselves on providing both excellent and accessible care to all Canadians. Learn more at  If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding career, come join us Job OverviewAs part of an interdisciplinary team the LPN will provide a comprehensive assessment of clients with mental health and addictions related issues and provide treatment management, guidance and prescribe medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards. The LPN provides nursing care to clients, administers medications in accordance with organizational and pharmaceutical policies and procedures, and provides support to the Nursing Team and Physician as directed. The LPN supports its clients in recovery in a myriad of practical and therapeutic ways including: supporting recovery strategies, assisting with client needs, listening empathetically, and more. The LPN will be required to work all shifts, which includes days, nights and weekends. Some duties include and are not limited to:Provide first aid as needed and refer patients to medical care as the Clinical Team deems necessaryResponsible for patient Detox scales as per Pharmacotherapy & Detox policies.Make patient medications available as prescribed as per Pharmacotherapy & Detox policiesEnsure medication policies and procedures are adhered toFollow up with patients following assessments by Physicians – charting, booking of further appointments, etc., when necessaryDirect bedside care when necessary (i.e. bathing, Critical Care, etc.)Participates in case consultation and treatment coordination with other members of the multi-disciplinary team if requiredThe ideal candidate will have:Current LPN license is good standingTrauma informed training/experience an asset;Knowledge of mental health and addictions and the 12 steps an asset;A passion and relentless pursuit for improving the life chances for all clients through support grounded in sound treatment practices;Proven ability to work well as an integral part of a team which includes senior management, managers, supervisors, staff and outside agencies; Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communication, and problem solving skills;The ability to be flexible, adaptable and nimble;  Commitment to professional development and growth;Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally and in writing;Must be able to understand and follow directions;Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;Ability to fulfill the functional demands of the position; Negative TB test;Valid First Aid/CPR Level C;Criminal record check through the Ministry of Justice;Valid Class 5 Drivers License in good standingThe following commitments are essential to all positions within EHN/Edgewood:A commitment to understanding and upholding the organizations vision, mission, goals and values; A commitment and adherence to workplace policies, procedures & practices;A commitment to standards of conduct, including behaving in a manner that is: respectful, professional, team-oriented, collegial, collaborative, ethical, honest, and trustworthy;A commitment to, and acts in accordance with, the inclusion, equity and diversity.
