Position Summary:South Country Co-op is hiring a friendly and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at Taber Food Store in Taber, AB. If you’re passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences, we’d love to hear from youReporting to the Grocery Manager, the Food Store Cashier is responsible for providing world-class customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. Key responsibilities include operating the cash register, processing payments accurately, assisting with product merchandising, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained throughout the store. This position requires a positive attitude, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Key Responsibilities:Operate cash registers, process transactions, and handle various payment methodsProvide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experienceAssist with merchandising, including stocking shelves and displaying packaged productsMaintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standardsHandle lottery services, cheque cashing, and apply fresh product codes (as needed)Support overall store operations as directed by the Grocery ManagerEducate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op Follow all safety procedures and company policiesOther duties as assignedQualifications:Must be at least 15 years of age and completed Grade 9Familiarity with cash registers, scanners, and POS systems preferredMust be able to lift up to 25lbs frequentlyComfortable using electronic equipment (., money counters, barcode scanners)Strong customer service and communication skillsAble to deal with customers and team members sensitively, tactfully, and diplomaticallyHigh level of integrity and a strong work ethicAble to work both independently and as part of a teamPositive attitude with a willingness to learn and adaptDetail-oriented and able to manage time effectivelyWork Schedule:This position requires full availability, including days, evenings, and weekends.Why Work with Us?At South Country Co-op, we value our team members and are committed to their well-being and success.
