 Position: Hoist Operator - New Westminster, BC Project Type: BuildingsProject Location: Vancouver Rate: $33.53 to $38.15 Per HourSchedule: Monday to Friday - OT as per site needs Accommodations: Local OnlyTravel Details: Not AvailableGC: GrahamAllied Partner: Technical Workforce Inc.Reference Number: 29897   We are currently recruiting for a Hoist Operator to join the team at one of the Buildings projects in New Westminster, BCThis position is in Vancouver, BC and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance. This position consists of operating an electrically powered hoist bringing construction/trades staff to designated floors on site.Emphasis is placed on the responsibility for the safe operation of the hoist, and for adherence to safety when loading or unloading passengers. When mechanical defects are noticed, the Hoist Operators are responsible for stopping the operation, and notifying a supervisor immediately. Work involves the performance of related manual labour tasks. TYPICAL DUTIES:Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols as a hoist operatorCommunicates effectively with the team to coordinate the movement of equipment and materialsObserves signals and safely operates the hoist by lowering, raising, and moving people, materials, and equipment to designated floors.Conducts and documents daily safety checks on hoist equipment and cables; maintains a close watch of the hoist during operation; identifies and reports mechanical or operational defects or concerns to a supervisor.Performs related work as required; maintains a clean and organized work environment KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLSAbility to understand and execute oral instructions.Ability to detect mechanical and operational defects in hoist equipment.Basic knowledge and understanding of load capacity ad weight distribution principlesAbility to follow instructionsMust be punctual, observant, a team player, and be committed to safety Minimum Requirements:Hoist operating: 1 Year ExperienceBasic understanding of hoisting equipment, safety compliance, and regulatory protocolCertifications needed: Hoist, CSTS, WHMIS, and Fall ProtectionIntermediate First Aid Certification considered an assetAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamCandidates must be legally able to work in Canada  COME AND GET YOUR BOOTS DIRTY With a significant presence in the construction, industrial maintenance, and turnaround sectors, Jardeg is the largest recruiter of skilled trades in Canada.
