Description Your TeamReporting to the Senior Manager, Taxation, the US Senior Tax Analyst will assist in the tax compliance, tax planning and tax reporting requirements for the Company. This individual will play an integral role in identifying and implementing best practices and optimizing the corporation’s tax structure. As a member of the Company’s corporate finance team, the US Senior Tax Analyst will interact with senior leadership to assist in the implementation of tax opportunities and satisfactorily resolve prior years’ tax examination.Your Key DeliverablesTax Compliance - Assist with the annual U.S. tax compliance process which includes but not limited to:Coordinate/prepare tax working papers, tax analyses and gather of information for partnership and corporate income tax returns (Forms 1120 and Form 1065) and facilitate the process with external advisorsPrepare state and local tax filings for disregarded entities and other tax formsPrepare quarterly tax installment calculations and coordinate payments to tax authoritiesOversee 1099 filings prepared by Accounts Payable team for corporate entitiesTax Reporting - Assist with the preparation of U.S. tax provisions and tax disclosures for external financial statement purposes:Prepare quarterly and annual tax accounting provisions under U.S. GAAP and related true-up analysis, and assist in the tax reporting to our parent company under IFRSCreate templates, as necessary, to facilitate gathering of tax information from divisionsPrepare reconciliation of income tax accountsEnsure compliance with the organization’s internal controls in relation to tax and relevant accounting and tax policiesOther Tax Initiatives:Assist with the preparation of responses to federal and state income tax auditsPlay a key role in the implementation of process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency in tax processesMonitor applicable tax legislation to proactively assess and determine the impact of any proposals to the CompanySupport tax planning initiatives such as tax incentives and creditsAssist with the preparation and maintenance of tax basis informationAssist with sales and use tax review, working with the business groups to help understand state requirements.Contribute to research and preparation of technical memos in support of U.S. tax technical positions taken in the financial statements and statutory filingsPrepare responses to notices received from tax authorities to resolve any disputed issuesMust HavesMinimum 3-5 years’ tax experience in preparing US corporate and partnership income tax returns (Form 1120 and 1065) in a public accounting firm or publicly traded companyExperience in preparing tax provisions and knowledge of accounting standards relating to accounting for income taxes under US GAAP or IFRSExperience in dealing with tax authorities and financial statement auditorsAbility to research and comprehend tax regulations and communicate findings to various levels of managementSelf-starter with high attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet reporting deadlinesAbility to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straight forward mannerGreat team player with the ability to anticipate and proactively resolve issuesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAdvanced skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications, particularly ExcelYour Opportunity We are proud to offer our employees what they value most:Competitive compensationExcellent extended medical, dental and vision benefits beginning day 1Career development programsPaid Volunteer HoursPaid parental leaveFamily planning assistance including IVF, surrogacy and adoptions optionsWellness and mental health resourcesA culture based on our values of Passion, Integrity and CommunityCanada: RRSP program, contributions begins day 1US: 401(k) matching, vesting begins day 1#LI-BT1#BRPWe are proud to create a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
