Job Description Design electrical systems for solar PV, hybrid (Solar + Grid + Diesel), and battery energy storage applications;Perform advanced AC and DC system calculations including:Load flow analysis,Cable sizing and voltage drop,Protection coordination and device selection,Battery autonomy and lifecycle modelling,Develop detailed single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, grounding layouts, panel and cabinet layouts;Support present and future grid-connected / utility-interactive system interconnection requirements;Assist in the design and application of transformers, switchgear and LV/MV distribution equipment;Support the integration of protection and control, PLC, SCADA and monitoring systems;Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, Bills of Material (BOMs) and material take-offs;Review and coordinate vendor technical submissions and engineering documentation;Participate in technical evaluation of suppliers, technologies and design options;Contribute to proposal development, RFP technical documentation and estimating support;Support FAT, SAT and commissioning activities as required;Conduct site visits and technical assessments;Prepare design reports, calculation summaries and as-built documentation;Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with codes, standards and client expectations;Mentor junior designers and contribute to knowledge development within the team;Support continuous improvement of engineering tools, templates and workflows. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering (or equivalent);Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in:Solar PV or hybrid power systems,Battery storage / DC systems,AC power distribution or utility-connected power systems,Demonstrated experience preparing SLDs, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and system documentation;Strong understanding of:AC & DC electrical distribution,Grounding & bonding practices,Transformers & switchgear,Protection & control principles,Experience with AutoCAD / EPLAN or equivalent;Familiarity with CEC, CSA, IEC, IEEE standards (asset);Experience working with utilities, EPCs or industrial clients (asset);Strong written, interpersonal and technical communication skills;Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects;Professional Engineer (P.Eng) eligibility is an asset;Being bilingual (French and English) is considered a strong asset.
