Leader, Underground Mine Technician

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the Underground Engineering Supervisor, the Underground Mine Technician Leader is the primary supervisor of the Underground Mine Technician Team within the Engineering department. They will lead the Mine Technician team to prioritize, delegate, and execute various tasks requested by different stakeholders across the mine. The Underground Mine Technician Leader acts as a mentor and ensures adequate service quality for clients. The leader must also allocate time for field work to assist the team and conduct work quality assurance audits. They will ensure that departmental goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental standards.Your Responsibilities:Promote Health and Safety to the survey team by hosting meetings, conducting field visits and work card control, procedure redaction and developing incident/accident prevention initiativesProvide coaching to the team by way of technical and soft skill trainingAttend daily morning meeting to receive daily mine production survey requirementsEnsure adequate allocation of workforce and proper upkeep of the team work scheduleEnsure the working order of all team related equipment and order equipment and supplies as requiredExecute the daily tasks associated with supporting engineering and operations, such as surveying and mine layout creation/updates;Responsible for the monthly (or bi-monthly) survey advance update for EOM purposes;Develop and maintain a high degree of precision and professionalism;WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDWhat You Need To Succeed:College degree in Mine Engineering/Technology or higher;Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground mining;Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and mine design software (Deswik an asset);Experience working in a multicultural environment;Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and positive attitude;Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
