Reporting to the Supervisor, Health and Fitness, the Group Fitness Instructor (Zumba) will work collaboratively with all YMCA staff and volunteers to provide exceptional service to members and guests of the YMCA. They will provide members with a comfortable and productive fitness environment through quality customer service and group fitness classes. Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:Instruct Zumba Group Fitness classes Assist with the development and implementation of group fitness program plansAssist members with their fitness programs in a positive and professional mannerEnsures the safety of all members, participants and staff by following YMCA standards, policies and proceduresEnsure program design, lay-out, and offerings meet the needs of all participants at various levelsPerform member orientations to the fitness facilityAssist with training new volunteers/staff in procedures and practicesBuild meaningful relationships through daily interaction with YMCA members, visitors, and colleaguesPerform all mandatory administration duties and recordsClean all prescribed areas based on infection prevention protocols including fitness and high touch areasQualification-you bring:Current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR level C & AED (valid within 2 years)Zumba Instructor CertificateAdvanced leadership courses are an assetDemonstrated high level of customer service skillsSuccessful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date. About YMCA BC:By igniting belonging and championing health equity, YMCA BC strengthens the foundations of community.
