About SPRBA:SPRBA is one of thirteen Business Improvement Area’s (BIA’s) in Edmonton. BIA’s are tasked with enhancing economic development within their boundaries, and do so via a formal association, where businesses pool their resources towards targeted area beautification, cleanliness initiatives, and marketing campaigns. Our organization represents the needs of over 550 local businesses, promoting Stony Plain Road as Edmonton’s next up-and-coming Main Street. Holiday Gift Guide – Campaign Details The HGG is our primary holiday marketing initiative, meant to highlight the variety of services and products available from over 550 local businesses on or near Stony Plain Road. Traditionally printed on newsprint and distributed to upwards of 15,000 local area mailboxes via Canada Post, the 2025 Canada Post labour disruptions have required us to envision this promotional initiative as a digital book. This change in format requires a shift in how we approach the guide, its audience, and how the campaign is marketed overall. The successful candidate will recognize the opportunity to think outside the box while remaining practical. Requested Skill Set: Confident in digital file construction and design Experience with design layout software such as the Adobe Suite or Canva Basic photo editing and software skills Ability to identify problems and create solutions Can work with minimal supervision Design Brief / Desired Outcomes: The successful candidate will conceptualize and deliver a branded holiday promotional campaign that incorporates SPRBA’s branding in some capacity. Deliverables include: A categorized digital catalogue, allowing viewers to explore and discover the different types of stores and services on and around Stony Plain Road, consisting of: Standard advert option (free): Available to member businesses to display a limited selection of their products for free. Premium advert option (paid): Providing additional value to our members in a manner above and beyond the standard free advert, possibly using some of the advanced features of our chosen digital catalogue provider (animated GIFS, video uploads, timed frames) A format that allows easy additions to page count via incoming submissions Printed marketing materials for in-store distribution, utilizing a QR code allowing shoppers to quickly access the catalogue on the go. (Posters, postcards, etc) A digital promotion campaign, for use on Meta platforms Additions or changes to the above may be discussed at the time of hire Deadlines: Printed Promotional Materials – Approved and sent to print by Monday, Nov. 3rd HGG Digital Catalogue – Complete and live by Friday, Nov. 14th, 12:00pm.
