Enterprise Architect Back to All Jobs [social_share] Our client requires an architect to provide strategic architecture leadership to align technology ecosystems with organizational goals, supporting digital transformation and scalability. The resource will focus on mapping business capabilities, defining future-state architectures, and guiding integration across cloud platforms, SaaS solutions, data environments, and AI tools. Ideal candidates will have expertise in Microsoft Azure, M365, and enterprise system design. Work is hybrid, 2 days onsite/3 days remote, at client location in Edmonton, AB. Edmonton, Alberta (Hybrid) Responsibilities Duties Include: Develop current-state and future-state enterprise architecture models (conceptual, logical, physical) aligned with strategic and business plans. Map business capabilities to supporting systems and identify redundancies, integration gaps, and modernization opportunities. Analyze application and system landscapes to recommend rationalization, consolidation, and modernization strategies. Provide guidance on architecture roadmaps, solution patterns, integrations, and platform alignment across CRM, HRIS, Finance, and Data Governance. Ensure technology recommendations align with cloud strategy, cybersecurity principles, and enterprise data programs. Engage stakeholders through workshops and produce architecture documentation, capability maps, and investment planning inputs Mandatory Requirements 5–8 years of experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture, systems analysis, and IT strategy roles in complex environments. Experience mapping business capabilities or processes to systems Experience supporting multi-team or multi-function environments (public sector or research experience is an asset) Working knowledge of cloud and SaaS environments (Microsoft preferred) Familiarity with Azure architecture, governance, tech stack and integration patterns, as well as Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, security/compliance features) Awareness of data platforms (e.g., Azure Fabric), BI, and data management and governance practices Familiarity with AI in enterprise settings, including automation, process optimization, LLMs, and agent-based workflows General understanding of how networks, data centers, and enterprise components connect— sufficient to assess architectural impacts (deep expertise not required) Experience with system-to-system integrations, data flows, APIs, ETL/ELT, and evaluating or designing integration patterns across enterprise platforms (CRM, HRIS, Finance & Data Governance) Experience reviewing systems for overlaps, redundancies, and optimization opportunities Strong ability to engage executives, run workshops, and produce clear documentation Desirable Requirements Public sector experience
