LOCATION AND ABOUT NHH ROLE OVERVIEW Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the storeroom attendant is responsible for receipt, storage, and issuing of all supplies and equipment to areas throughout the organization including the distribution of mail. This position is a currently vacant, in person, no rotation role. No rotation positions do not own a schedule but provide availability to be scheduled up to a part time commitment.  QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 education Current stores experience, minimum of 450 hours within MM preferred Knowledge of Materials Management processes required (receiving, inventory management, scanning and filing of Purchasing documents) Knowledge of WHMIS, CQI and sanitation codes/hygiene Capable of learning new techniques, policies and procedures Effective Time Management Ability to be tactful in dealing with people Able to work independently as well as a team member Computer experience Must be capable of maintaining a pleasant and accommodating approach, utilizing diplomacy in interactions with all clients Must be organized and detail oriented PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS Ability to focus on complex instructions and tasks in an active, rapidly changing environment with the ability to effectively organize tasks and utilize time available in an efficient manner Must be capable of detecting errors on requisitions, purchase orders, inventory records and shipping documents Must be capable of medium physical demand (frequent lifting, carrying or conveying articles with the ability to help move furniture and heavy machinery). Refer to the Physical Demands Analysis Follows safe and healthy work practices and maintain a safe, healthy work environment through attendance at educational programs, use of established reporting mechanisms for injuries, illness and hazards and adherence to health and safety related policies and procedures EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment. Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Northumberland Hills Hospital operates a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff. Northumberland Hills Hospital may choose to conduct parts/all the hiring process virtually.
