Hiring Lead Backend Engineer with Microservices

Job Title: Lead Backend Engineer — Microservices & Cloud Location: Toronto, Ontario Duration: 06 Months Exp Required: 10 years Job Description: We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the design and development of microservices architecture for cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development and cloud technologies. Required Skills & Qualifications 8 years of experience in backend development, with at least 2 years in microservices architecture. Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, or Node.js or similar frameworks. Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP services, such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, or PubSub. Expertise in RESTful API design and integration patterns. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. Knowledge of CICD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions. Understanding of cloud security, scalability, and performance optimization. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems like Kafka or PubSub. Exposure to serverless computing and cloud-native frameworks. Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch. Strong grasp of SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases, with experience in schema design, indexing, and query optimization. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design and develop microservices architecture for cloud-based applications. Implement RESTful APIs and ensure secure, scalable integrations. Deploy and manage applications on AWS or GCP using cloud-native services. Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration. Collaborate with architects and DevOps teams to implement CICD pipelines. Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability. Ensure compliance with security best practices and cloud standards. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across environments.
