Preference will be given to Anishinaabe Candidates, please self-identify in your application.Starting Salary: $56,637 AnnuallyOVERVIEW:Under the supervision of the Specialized Service Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and facilitating access visits between children and their family members, providing services on the continuum of access arrangements, and assisting staff in providing direct support services to children, youth, and families.QUALIFICATIONS:Two (2) year Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker diploma, or other diploma in the social services field from an accredited institution, with relevant experience. Experience in working within an Anishinabe Child and Family Well-Being Services is preferred or proven experience in working with Anishinabek people.Have a class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License, access to a personal vehicle, and be able to travel.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards.Knowledge of child maltreatment, child development, attachment and separation, and family dynamics.Demonstrated helping skills to provide assessment, engagement and support services to families and children.Demonstrated cultural competency social service work practice within an Anishinaabe Organization.Knowledge of evidence-based social service work practice.Excellent familiarity with community resources.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.Demonstrated problem solving, planning, priority-setting, and conflict resolution skills.Demonstrated presentation skills to represent the Agency in the community setting.Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills to coordinate effectively with a broad variety of community resources.Must have the ability to maintain the confidentiality of Agency and client information.Demonstrated ability to work with clients including working with individuals who are dealing with mental health, addiction, and poverty issues. About Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services: On April 1, 2012 Kina Gbezhgomi Child And Family Services transferred the direct service delivery and management of the prevention services inclusive of family and community support services to the First Nations. Each of the First Nations and Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services has a Contribution Agreement outlining the roles and responsibilities of the agency and First Nation in this collaborative partnership inclusive of agency support and training, funding arrangements, service and financial reporting. Kina Gbezhgomi Child And Family Services completed this process as a transition phase to a fully integrated child welfare model in preparation for designation as a child welfare agency, and also to reflect the membership requests in relation to First Nation community based delivery of prevention services.
