Northern Health is seeking a champion with management and leadership experience to join our Primary Care departmentThe Manager, Community Services leads the implementation of strategic objectives and operational plans to provide effective and efficient delivery of community services that meet NH’s policies and health priorities. The position is responsible for providing leadership to the planning, delivery and evaluation of services. In accordance with Northern Health’s vision where people and their families receive primary care services supported by interprofessional teams, the Manager of Community Services ensures the use of best practice to provide competent, safe, and ethical care for people and their families in settings such as physician practices, homes, schools, and communities. The Manager, Community Services is responsible for the delivery, planning, organizing and evaluation of services for the assigned portfolio. This includes the overall management of operating systems, clinical activities, education and quality improvement in a variety of service areas such as: Primary Care Interprofessional Teams, Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Home Care Nursing, Community Rehabilitation, and Home Support Services.Primary Care Networks are partnerships between the Divisions of Family Practice representing BC’s family physicians, the regional health authorities, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and local community partners, along with other community providers such as nurse practitioners. All partners are working together in their local communities and collectively to redesign .’s primary and community care system so that it works better for patients and health-care providers.Starting salary will be approximately from $129,557 to $159,875 and will be based on education, training, experience, reporting structure and salaries of similar positions. Primary and Community Care Northern Health’s approach to person and family-centered care involves creating health care teams, which include your doctor or nurse practitioner and other health care professionals, to provide a range of health care services. The quality of care increases by providing continuity of care over time and across settings and will result in better long-term health outcomes. Dawson Creek Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. There are eleven elementary schools, one middle school and one secondary school. The Northern Lights College provides adult education.
