As a federated College with the University of Saskatchewan (USask), we maintain our own administration and receive our own provincial grants. STM provides students with an intimate scholarly setting situated within the larger Uni­versity of Saskatchewan (USask) campus. Offering a combination of smaller class sizes, award-winning faculty, social clubs, additional scholarship and bursary opportunities and a cafeteria for food offerings—students enjoy an environment that is the best of both worlds. STM, in partnership with USask’s College of Arts and Science, provides students with approximately 220 additional credit classes in the humanities and social sciences that they can select from—many unique to the campus. STM is academically integrated with the University of Saskatchewan. Any USask student may take STM courses, with credit counting toward their USask degrees. STM offers courses in the following 20 subject areas: Anthropology; Archaeology; Clas­sical, Medieval and Renaissance Studies; Catholic Studies; Dene; Economics; English; French; Hebrew; History; Interdisciplinary Studies; Latin; Literature; Philosophy; Politi­cal Studies; Psychology; Religious Studies; Sociology; Spanish, and Ukrainian. STM also offers five certificate programs distinct to campus - Catholic Studies, Peace Studies, Labour Studies, Religious Literacy, and Ukrainian Studies. Position Profile Reporting to the President, the Dean serves as the College’s senior academic officer and is responsible for leading the academic program, championing the Catholic intellectual tradition and shaping the experience of both faculty and students. Areas of responsibility include leading the academic program; faculty recruitment and career development; college strategic planning; managing the federation relationship between the College and the University of Saskatchewan; and advancing the College’s public profile. The Dean will positively promote, actively engage in, and create an environment that stewards STM’s Catholic mission, vision, and values. The appointment of the Dean is for a five-year term with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will either hold tenure at the College or, if not, will be offered an academic position with tenure at the appropriate rank. How will you contribute as Dean?
