Job DescriptionAs a Front Desk Manager, you will lead your team in exceeding guest expectations and creating lasting positive impressions on each guest. Your role is very important because you are your team's leader, teacher, and role model. Additionally, you will achieve excellence by leading and teaching your people to make business decisions that are focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service while delivering against key financial goals and performance metrics for the department. Key Focuses Is visible in operations throughout the day, supporting quality first impressions at the front desk, lobby, and guest entrance. Mentors team to anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and warmly welcome all guests. Develops and maintains positive working relationships and communication with all departments and team members, supporting the hotel and each team within it to reach their goals. Provides direct reports with the resources, training, direction, coaching, and feedback required for their continuous development. Creates schedules that meet peak demand periods while delivering budgeted labour costs. Manages expense lines within budgeted parameters. Executes assigned deliverables in a manner that requires little or no follow-up, both in terms of timeliness, scope, and quality. Experience/Passions/Education Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Front Desk Position. Minimum 3 years in a leadership role. Proficient in English. Tech-savvy. Working Conditions This position may include dayshift, afternoon, or evening shifts any day of the week or weekend and the occasional night audit shift if needed. This position will require long periods of standing and may require lifting and bending. There may be periods of independent work and brief periods of exposure to cold air due to the location of the front desk.
