Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 01/22/2026About this opportunity:The Lead Operator will oversee the field operations team and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations while fostering a culture aligned with corporate values. This role requires strong technical proficiency in all aspects of Conventional production facilities and a thorough understanding of safe work practices, programs, and procedures.Work Environment:This position is located in Grande Prairie and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.This position will work a shift of 4 days on, 3 days off, 10 hour days.What you’ll do: Lead field operations to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant performance.Support the Superintendent, Area Coordinator, and Engineering in developing annual OPEX budgets.Identify and mitigate risks related to scheduling conflicts, Health & Safety, policy adherence, and SIMOPS.Provide guidance on troubleshooting assets to meet KPIs and resolve process upsets.Monitor team performance, promote cross-training, and mentor future leaders.Assist Engineering with facility projects, planning, and execution.Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance.Drive culture change and succession planning within the team.Provide coverage for the Area Coordinator as required.Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:Legally authorized to work in Canada10+ years of operating or related experience, with demonstrated leadership skills.Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.High school diploma; technical trade, journeyman, or certification such as power engineering is an asset.Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to health, safety, and environment.Experience with start-up and commissioning, and with both sweet and sour operations is an asset.Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines.
