Summer DVM StudentLocation: Victoria, BCVCA Canada Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital is accepting applications for our 2026 Summer Veterinary Student DVM position. This is a great opportunity to apply your classroom studies within a hospital environment and acquire first-hand experience in working closely with VCA Canada veterinary professionals.Our Summer DVM Student position will provide you with invaluable insights into your career path post-graduation. As a valued member of our team, you will develop practical and professional skills by working under a licensed veterinarian and/or registered technicians/technologists.You will be introduced to the inner workings of our hospitals while also gaining exposure and education in the following areas:Patient intake and triagePatient handling and restraintClient care and relationship managementTreatment and hands-on compassionate careObserve or assist in surgical & non-surgical procedures, and anesthesiaAssist with laboratory and imaging diagnosticsTrain in the use of in-house practice management softwareGeneral hospital maintenance*The amount of responsibility, duties, supervision, and delegation will depend on your veterinary school year and provincial veterinary legislation guidelines*Requirements:Applicants must be enrolled in an AVMA-accredited DVM programLegally authorized to work in CanadaMust be able to repeatedly lift at least 40 lbsExceptional client service skills that build trust and loyaltyCalm, compassionate, and nurturing attitudeEmail: for further information or click Apply NowVCA is committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace and is an equal opportunity employer.
