What the position entails: GeoVerra is seeking National Sector Leads These are key roles in advancing our strategic growth initiatives. These positions offer the opportunity to shape market direction, foster collaboration, and contribute directly to our success.Each position provides both market and operational leadership. They are primarily accountable for driving market sector and sales growth, while serving as technical and sector-specific subject matter experts to support operational teams across all regions. The roles ensure leadership, coordination, and collaboration across all regions and work closely with other Market Sector Leads and Vice Presidents to achieve GeoVerra’s strategic growth objectives.Market Sector Leads may have dual roles and carry titles such as Regional Manager, Regional Director, or Regional VP, depending on the size and scope of their portfolio (team members and budget). These are highly collaborative positions that demand exceptional communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to influence, develop, and grow teams. All activities are carried out in alignment with GeoVerra’s operational and strategic plans.Applicants from any location where GeoVerra has offices are welcome to apply What you will do:Executing Operational PlansWork with Regional Vice Presidents to develop annual plans and budgets, focusing on revenue targets and implementing business development strategies. Assist the Regional Vice Presidents with financial forecasting by maintaining accurate reporting of hard and soft backlog for monthly, quarterly, and yearly reviews. Collaborate with corporate services teams (Business Support, IT, Finance, HR) to ensure effective operations and policy compliance. Sponsor or actively manage projects within regions as required. The level of operational involvement depends on the existing team’s capability, with the intent of growing all market sectors across regions. Shared responsibility with regional managers for delivering projects on time and within budget. Business Development Collaborate with Regional Vice Presidents, Business Development, and Regional Market Sector Leads to identify new opportunities and pursuits. Collaborate with the VP of Commercial Business regarding pricing and major project pursuit strategies. Lead Growth and Operational teams in Client Care to boost win rates, value of opportunities, and revenue from existing clients, including key accounts and foundational clients. Lead Growth and Operational teams on strategic growth initiatives including new pursuits, cross-selling, and major projects — from initial pursuit through to awarded work. Execute business development initiatives, including strategic growth. Track all market sector opportunities in the CRM system, ensuring all regional Market Sector Leads and Project Managers are using the CRM system to track all opportunities. People Management and DevelopmentLead teams in business development and engagement by promoting growth through GeoVerra's core values and performance management programs. Support the development of project delivery and production teams within the market sector, supporting both direct and indirect team members in building expertise and capability to deliver successfully in the market sector. Promote team engagement within the market sector across all regions by supporting, developing and assigning work to subject matter experts (SMEs). Collaborate with Production, Field and Regional VPs to ensure project teams are supported and equipped to execute awarded work to GeoVerra’s standards, procedures, and excellence. Engage in initiatives that strengthen team culture, improve retention, and reduce turnover, demonstrating a commitment to employee engagement and talent development. Quality & SafetyParticipate in safety programs and engage in regular communication to promote safety awareness. Perform field safety audits (MFOs) and monitor compliance, ensuring Project Managers do the same, especially when project safety requirements change. Lead the team in adherence to GeoVerra’s Quality programs and adoption of quality tools. Promote GeoVerra’s values and goals by visibly promoting quality and safety programs and embedding them within the organizational culture. What you will bring:Education and CredentialsDiploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, B.Sc. in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Forestry or Environmental Sciences or related discipline.Members in good standing with local Survey or Technologist Association.Project & Team Management 5 to 10+ years of management experience. Proven ability to lead teams in achieving business development goals and professional development. Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret data, manage budgets, and support strategic decision-making. Self-directed with excellent time management and organizational skills ensuring deadlines are met for both self and team. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for self and others. Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Strong understanding of regulatory processes and technical workflows related to GeoVerra’s services. Results-driven demonstrated with a growing track record of achievement, and analytical skills with attention to detail. Able to identify innovative strategies and practices that further business objectives; adaptable and able to think outside the box. Skilled at driving continuous improvement by challenging others to improve and innovate. Communication & Relationship Building Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to support and mentor/teach other members of the team. Strong relationship management skills, with proven ability to maintain and leverage relationships with key stakeholders.
