South Country Co-op is hiring a Petroleum Driver (Class 1) at our Agro centre location in Cypress County, Alberta.Reporting to the Agribusiness Manager, the Petroleum Driver (Class 1) is responsible for delivering world-class customer service, operating tandem or tridem truck, meeting customers and loading and unloading petroleum products.The position will be responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle and its features while delivering hazardous petroleum products to customers, general maintenance on fuel trucks, filling out electronic daily logs, completing pre-trip inspections, and reporting any discrepancies directly to the Agribusiness Manger. The Petroleum Driver will also be expected to communicate sales and promotion programs to customers, maintain a professional representation of South Country Co-op, and adhere to South Country Co-op’s safety policies.Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid Class 1 driver’s license and must provide a clean driving abstract. Candidates must possess a preferred 2 years of relevant driving experience hauling bulk liquid driving Class 1. Must be able to work well unsupervised. Knowledge of petroleum products and mechanical ability would be an asset. Ability to complete and successfully pass a pre-employment alcohol and substance test.Ability to complete and successfully pass a pre-employment Driver Evaluation performed by a third-party company appointed by South Country Co-op Limited.Must provide clean Drivers Abstract as part of the application process. Minimum1 years of relevant driving experience.Required to have the ability to recognize and understand the unique properties and handling requirements of the load being hauled, as well as any special rules pertaining to the transport of the load. Required to have the ability to understand and recognize a variety of hoses, couplings, flanges, adapters, etc. used to load and offload the load, both on the vehicle as well as at the loading/unloading location. Required ability to move hazardous materials into and around non-industrial areas, such as delivering petroleum products to a residence, farm etc. Must have some computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to climb and to work at heights and to lift products weighing more than 55 lbs. regularly.Must demonstrate effective communication and strong customer service skills and the ability to work well within multi-generational teams.Ability to read maps and use of GPS with a good sense of direction.Working Conditions: Available to work Monday to Friday 7am-6pm. Spend up to 75% of the day driving.Climbing (ladders) and working at heights.Ability to work in all weather conditions (., dry, hot, wet, cold) and within a noisy, dusty etc. environment. Regular lifting over 55 lbs. *Please note, you should have 1 attachment in addition to your resume included in your application, a copy of the applicable Drivers Abstract.Internal candidates who apply by Wednesday, December 17th, 2025 at 4:00 pm will be given first consideration, based on seniority, ability, and fitness to perform the work satisfactorily.
