Are you excited by the idea of being a key piece that helps drive land acquisitions, close deals with major clients, and adapt building layouts to meet evolving market demands?We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented draftsperson to join our Site Planning team as a CAD Designer, Industrial Site Planning. In this role, you’ll focus exclusively on the design of site plans for industrial and commercial developments across Canada, primarily in BC, Alberta, and Ontario, with expansion into the United States.Your work directly supports key business decisions, from helping our teams secure new development sites to optimizing layouts for prospective tenants and clients. We work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, so we’re looking for someone who thrives on problem-solving, brings strong organizational skills, and proactively addresses challenges.If you're passionate about design, technology, and continuous learning, and want to play an important role in shaping the future of industrial development, we’d love to meet you.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare preliminary site plans layouts using AutoCAD 2020+Interpret zoning bylaws, design guidelines, and site-specific restrictions to deliver accurate, compliant layouts.Read and analyze surveys (topographic, legal) and architectural construction drawings.Revise site plans per team’s and consultant’s feedback.Assist with coordination and support the transfer of drawings to external consultants.Analyze project needs and collaborate with internal teams to address undefined site conditions or design challenges.Proactively identify project risks and address challenges before they impact timelines.Maintain organized CAD files, and drawing standards, supporting consistency and accuracy across all our projects.Actively contribute to improving team workflows, tools, and processes.Desired Skills and ExperienceA technical diploma or degree in drafting, architectural technology, or a related field.3+ years of experience in drafting and design for light industrial or commercial design preferred.Solid understanding of zoning bylaws, site planning principles, and architectural drawings.Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (2020 or newer).Experience with AutoCAD 3D, Spatial Manager, ArcGIS, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Civil 3D considered an asset.Familiarity with construction practices and Canadian building codes.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.Passion for technology, tools, and exploring creative design solutions.Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, contributing ideas, and learning from others.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.$65,000 - $75,000 a yearWe value your interest in Beedie.
