Our client is a global manufacturer committed to safety, quality, and sustainability. They’re looking for a hands-on Health & Safety Manager to elevate the SHEQ culture across their Eastern Canada sites (Ontario & Quebec). This role is all about driving accountability, improving floor-level engagement, and leading the shift toward a zero-harm, zero-defect mindset.Position SummaryThe SHEQ Manager is a high-energy cultural champion responsible for executing the company’s existing safety and quality programs across 3–4 industrial sites. Your focus is not building new systems but coaching, influencing, and driving adoption of the SHEQ management system. You’ll work directly on the floor, build trust with teams, and deliver measurable improvements.AdvantagesReporting: Directly to a senior operational leader; close collaboration with Facility Managers.Team: Support from an Eastern counterpart and a seasoned H&S Director.Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Monday–Friday.Travel: 10–15% to Quebec and regional sites.Culture: Highly diverse, inclusive environment—fit and attitude matter most.Compensation: $100–120K base + annual bonus (April payout).Benefits: 80% employer-paid benefits and RRSP with 3.5% match after one year.ResponsibilitiesSafety, Health & Environment (Primary Focus)Lead all plant safety, health, and environmental activities with daily floor presence.Implement divisional policies and convert strategy into practical, on-floor action.Train staff (including temps) to ensure full competency on the SHEQ system (EHS Insight).Manage safety reporting, investigations (RCA), and corrective actions to prevent repeat events.Ensure compliance with audits, LOTO/Permit to Work, risk assessments, and JHA/JSA.Oversee environmental compliance and transportation of dangerous goods.Quality Management (Secondary Focus)Support RCA and 8D corrective actions for quality issues.Manage customer quality inquiries, including site visits when needed.Lead monthly Quality Management Reviews and prepare summary reports for leadership.QualificationsProfileA passionate, resilient, “doer” who can influence, motivate, and drive cultural change.
