Distribution System Construction Manager

Our Distribution team is currently seeking Construction Managers to join our team, based out of our Vaughan, ON office.Reporting to the Vice President, Distribution Operations, these positions plan and direct all crew activities, lead the site work force, coordinate daily work activities, work closely with the project team and client, and manage sub-contractors. They are accountable for the overall safety, quality, budget, schedule and progress of all construction activities on their assigned projects.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring all staff carry out their duties in accordance with their role requirementsResponsibility for site surveillance to ensure specifications and methodologies for delivery on contracts are complied withReport weekly progress against program; identify unplanned works and associated costsPerform work in accordance with all organizational requirements, as well as provincial and federal health and safety standards and legislation, ensuring highest standard of safety is upheldParticipate in and/or lead safety meetings, including identification of potential work site hazardsEnsure appropriate tools are transported to the worksite as required and are properly functioning prior to utilization.Oversee all forms of labour to assist in the successful completion of construction projects from start to finishTend to and operate a variety of machines and equipment necessary for the job.Ensure crews are aware and able to provide information on needed services. IE: Closest hospital, Control Centre, Utility Reps etc.Ensure that all procurement items are identified and adequately placed with the procurement department to enable the contract program to be carried outManage a retrievable project filing system in accordance with company proceduresComply with and implement HR policies such as the disciplinary procedureRequirementsPost-Secondary Education in a related field ( Construction Management, Powerline Technician)Alternative experience + certifications may be consideredMust have proven overhead distribution line work experienceDemonstrated experience leading construction projects, including supervisors / foremanA proven track record of compliance with Safe Work PracticesBenefitsThis position offers an hourly rate of $45 – $90, depending on experience and qualifications.We offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.
