Reporting to the Plant Manager – Liquid Fertilizer, the Operations Summer Student will be responsible for assisting with the smooth day-to-day operations and logistics of our high-end liquid fertilizer facility located northwest of Wilkie, SK (Thackeray). This position assists with the safe transfer of liquid fertilizer, general equipment and yard maintenance, and coordination with retail locations and the custom applications team. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in agriculture operations while contributing to the efficiency and safety of the facility.Position Responsibilities:Assist with the transfer of incoming and outgoing liquid fertilizerSupport the operation and basic maintenance of transfer pumps and related equipmentHelp coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with retail divisions and the custom application teamAssist in unloading railcars following established company proceduresPerform general yard and equipment maintenance, cleaning, and upkeepFollow all safety regulations, protocols, and procedures at all timesSupport accurate inventory tracking and data entryPerform other operational duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:Interest in agriculture, operations, logistics, or related fieldsPrevious experience in the agriculture industry is an asset but not requiredStrong understanding-or willingness to learn-safety procedures in an industrial/agriculture settingAbility and willingness to work extended hours during peak seasonsComfortable working at heights and outdoors in variable weather conditionsValid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportationMust live in or close to the town of Wilkie SKREQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn troubleshooting of minor equipment issuesSelf-motivated and able to work independently with appropriate guidanceStrong organizational and time-management skillsBasic computer skills; familiarity with inventory systems is an assetStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high facility and equipment standardsAbility to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbsClear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members
