  Child & Youth Instructor (Dance) Department: Community Services Department - Recreation Division File Number: SV25-136 Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre Position Type: Temporary Part Time Hours: 1-10 hours per week – daytime, evening and weekend shifts, January – September 2026 Number of Positions Available: One (1) Employee Group: Non-Union Salary: $19.80 - $21.68 per hour Closing Date: December 11, 2025 at 4:30 PM   PURPOSE AND SCOPE: As a member of the CS Department, this position will provide children with an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills in a variety of general or special interest activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will: Be responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants and ensure the rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations are followed. Be responsible for the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the activities being led to ensure a successful program. Be responsible for the proper handling, cleanliness, and care of the equipment, supplies, and facilities and to report any damages or losses to the supervisor. Ensure the completion and submission of the required administrative forms (lesson plans, injury reports, supply requests, etc.) in a timely manner. Attend all staff meetings and training when required. Provide timely, accurate information to the Child and Youth Program Coordinator and respond appropriately to their decisions and directions. Perform all tasks and responsibilities through the lens of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, ensuring commitment to fairness, representation, accessibility and respect for diverse perspectives and cultures in all aspects of work. Note:   the above duties and responsibilities are not to be construed as all-inclusive. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Valid current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (“CRC”) and Vulnerable Sector Screening(VSC) prior to commencing work at the City of Belleville Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children Previous dance experience ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development certification Diploma in child-related field of study Previous dance instructing experience HOW TO APPLY: www.belleville.ca/careers We thank all applicants who apply but advise that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
