However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.About the roleDirector, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)Reporting to the SVP, Financial Performance and partnering closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function at IFC - both at the consolidated level and for its Canadian operations. The role is responsible for planning, forecasting, and underwriting insight, and manages a team of 6 finance and accounting professionals, including 2 managers.Key responsibilities:· Lead the annual financial planning (mid-term planning) and target-setting processes to deliver earnings growth and ROE outperformance.· Provide weekly forecasts and financial updates to senior leadership (IFC Operating Committee) to review performance, surface issues, and enable timely decision-making.· Partner with business leaders and finance/accounting teams across all regions - covering distribution and investment income - to forecast and interpret upcoming financial results.· Review monthly and quarterly performance, identify trends, and support business reviews.· Develop dashboards, heatmaps, and ad hoc analyses to monitor performance (e.g., growth KPIs, severity and frequency analyses).· Coordinate forecasting and analysis of other financial matters, including taxes, non-operating results, and balance sheet movements.· Help craft quarterly performance messaging for the MD&A and support Investor Relations.· Collaborate with the Group CFO on quarterly earnings call preparation and Q&A.· Prepare the CFO report and other financial materials for the Audit Committee and Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.· Drive continuous improvement of the FP&A technology platform to enhance efficiency and insight over time.Skills and experience:· Finance, accounting, or actuarial background.· Minimum 5 years of FP&A experience in the insurance sector.· Strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS).· Demonstrated leadership experience.· Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, including senior management.· Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.· Fast learner with agility and adaptability to change.· Proven ability to multitask and collaborate in a team environment.· Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and trends.· Ideally based in Montreal; other locations may be considered.· For candidates in Quebec, bilingualism is required due to frequent interaction with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.Ce poste jouera un rôle essentiel au sein de notre équipe. | This position will fill an essential role in our team.
