Working for Pembina means working safely.  Overview:Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s K3 facility is recruiting for a Gas Plant Operator to join the team. This position reports to the Foreman, Operations in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Business Division. The Gas Services Business Unit provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts.The K3 Facility is a registered 1st Class Plant that accommodates various operational processes such as steam generation for utility and process purposes, separation of raw inlet gas, condensate stabilization, sour gas sweetening and regeneration, Lean Oil Absorption system, super-clause sulphur plant, glycol dehydration systems, de-ethanization, and recompression facilities. As a Gas Plant Operator, you will be responsible for daily operations within the plant site working a 7 on 7 off, alternating days and nights schedule.  This role is also a unionized position.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;Start up, operate and shut down unit operations within the gas plant as well as the entire plant with expertise;Review, understand and fully utilize Pembina’s safety and operational procedures and standards in performing all facets of work;Ensure all safety documentation is completed for all personnel working in the facilities under operational care. This will include Safe Work Permits and Field Level Hazard Assessments;Clearly document facility operations in logbook reporting, daily production reports and reliability reporting;Lead and participate in commissioning and start-up activities;Work with Pembina management, engineering firms and equipment vendors to develop a comprehensive set of procedures that will enable safe and reliable plant operation;Identify and troubleshoot process upsets, take proportional action to resolve issues;Call out maintenance for equipment repairs, ensure the priority level for repairs is communicated as required;Look for cost savings opportunities & relay to team during operations meetings;Incident reporting;Keep safety tickets up to date and coordinate required training; Contribute to a collaborative team environment that values inclusion and diversity; Demonstrate learning agility by actively seeking feedback, adapting to new information quickly, and applying learnings to improve performance and deliver results in a dynamic environment;Work with a safety conscious attitude; andParticipate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.Qualifications:Relevant gas processing experience;Preference will be given to those who have completed 3rd Class Power Engineering and working toward 2nd Class or higher;Equipment experience would include operation of Power boilers, amine gas treating, natural gas compression, refrigeration, and at a minimum shallow cut, Condensate stabilization, Sulphur processing, produced water injection;Familiar with all aspects of the operations and established procedures;Continual dedication to on-going training and development with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment;Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills;Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude to accommodate the variable duties of the position; Working knowledge of MS Office applications;Must live within 100km of the plant location. Transportation is provided from the Town of Fox Creek and Whitecourt; andValid Class 5 Driver’s License.This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.  You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.   The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position.
