In this role you will be expected to answer and complete Ontario 1 Call locates that are submitted to TCE and respond to any unauthorized crossings and/or encroachments. You will also learn to operate, maintain, test, and inspect our natural gas pipeline, valves and associated pipeline building assemblies in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.The successful candidate will provide oversight for and execute our organization’s pipeline operations and maintenance program, damage prevention program as well as provide support to the transfer compressor operation. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills.What you’ll doPerform inspections, troubleshooting and repair on equipment such as actuators, valves, stem seals, and other related componentsPerform One Call line locatesPerform gas leak surveys as reported by aerial patrolsPerform and assist with various tasks associated with in-line inspection programsComplete preventative and corrective maintenance PMs/CMs as required and close out work orders. Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new notifications, etc. in SAPRead and interpret alignment sheetsLead/manage the safe and efficient completion of low to high complexity projects to include the coordination and monitoring of contractor work activities or third-party active controlProvide coaching, mentoring and training to other personnelAssist with all types of line crossings (foreign or seismic) of TC Energy pipeline assetsComplete basic “as built” prints and update related documentation with respect to One Call and pipeline related schematicsIdentify encroachment issues, report and manage unauthorized activities Provide support as necessary to the operation of transfer compressor for pipeline pull downsCommunicate and provide damage prevention education to contractors, the general public, landowners, and government agencies relative to gas operationsPlan and lead pipeline isolation, blowdowns and other gas handling activities including installation and operation of air movers/expellers Conduct pipeline purging, loading and bleed ins to pressurize pipelines, and complete return to service activitiesOperate and maintain natural gas pipelines and associated equipmentAssist with general pipeline right-of-way (ROW) maintenance activities such as erosion or sink hole repairs, line patrols, and installation of identification signs and postsComplete LDAR repairs, planned and corrective maintenance as required Provide on call support to the region Perform tasks from other disciplinesMinimum QualificationsMinimum completion of third year of trades program or two years of technical training from a recognized institution2 years of relevant work experienceProven Mechanical knowledge, skills and experiencePreferred Qualifications5 years relevant work experience related to PipelinesExperience with valve and valve operator operation, inspection, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting Experience operating and maintaining high pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilitiesComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or SAP experienceHave and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for reviewSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testingTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training will be required (estimated up 50% of work schedule)Participate in an on-call scheduleBe subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperaturesAbout our businessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
