Reporting to the Registrar & Director of Student Services, the Assistant Registrar, Admissions plays an integral role within the ORSS team by coordinating the day-to-day administrative tasks required to support and manage all undergraduate and graduate admissions processes and procedures. This includes advising potential applicants, assessing their academic transcripts for admissibility, organizing all applications for completeness as well as managing all decisions and on admission transfer credits.Your responsibilities will include:Interpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirementsAdvising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequencesAnalyzing, scoring and ranking incoming applicationsKeeping well-informed on University programs, policies and proceduresAnalyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvementsDetermining logistical details required for the execution of admissions processesImplementing plans and process improvements for administrative workflowAnalyzing statistical information to inform admissions projections and planning activities Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum four (4) years of recent experience administering admissions in a post-secondary environmentExperience academic advising to undergraduate and/or graduate studentsExperience assessing admission files and transcripts from all over the worldExperience creating documentation and/or training materials and developing and delivering presentations and workshopsExperience Interpreting and applying academic policies and proceduresHigh degree of computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programStrong knowledge of ROSI (Repository of Student Information) systemFamiliarity with admission databases (e.g., Online Admissions Application, Nolij, Slate, JOIN) and Enrolment Services File ShareAbility to interpret and apply complex policies and proceduresAbility to solve complex problems involving diverse individual and group needsAbility to identify systemic barriers to student access to education and student access to financial aidDemonstrated commitment to high quality services and openness to students froma wide variety of backgrounds and orientationsDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion; familiarity with FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act)Trained in SafeTalkAbility to work evenings and weekends for peak admission periods and events, and occasional travel for business purposesAssets (Nonessential):Relevant experience within a University Registrarial or Faculty officeRelevant experience interpreting and applying academic policies and procedures within the University of TorontoExperience in website content managementTrained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)To be successful in this role you will be:CommunicatorDiplomaticMeticulousProblem solverSelf-directedTeam playerClosing Date: 01/22/2026, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USW Appointment Type: Budget - Term Schedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:USW Pay Band 12 -- $81,312. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $103,986.
