Apply today About the role Position Overview: Reworld is seeking an experienced CDL Driver to transport waste materials safely and efficiently to designated locations, following all safety, regulatory, and company guidelines. This role requires extended periods of driving with overnight stays as needed. The ideal candidate will have HazMat and Tanker endorsements, a proven safety record, and the ability to work independently or in isolated environments. They must also be willing to undergo training in working at heights and confined spaces and have experience with the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) manifest system. Key Responsibilities: Operate Commercial Vehicle Safely: Drive in compliance with DOT regulations, transportation laws, and company safety standards to safely transport waste materials to designated locations. Extended Driving and Overnight Stays: Operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods, including overnight stays in either a truck sleeper cab or a hotel, as required. Load and Secure Cargo: Ensure all cargo is safely loaded and secured prior to and during transit, with proper placarding on the vehicle per Transportation regulations. Maintain Accurate Documentation: Complete and maintain paperwork accurately, including manifests, vehicle inspection reports, expense reports, time sheets, and job sheets. Perform Vehicle Inspections: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and essential supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Adhere to Scheduled Routes and Appointments: Follow assigned schedules and appointments for timely and efficient waste pickup and transport. Technology Use: Utilize a tablet for E-Logs and other documentation as required. Additional Duties: Complete any additional duties as assigned, which may include working at heights or in confined spaces when necessary. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial driving experience. License Requirements: Valid Class AZ (Ontario) / Class 1 license with HazMat and Tanker endorsements. Driving Record: Clean driving abstract and proven track record of safe vehicle operation. RPRA Experience: Familiarity with the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) manifest system and regulations. Understanding of Waste Classes: Knowledge of different waste classes and safe handling procedures. Safety Certifications: Willingness to undergo training for working at heights, confined spaces and first aid. Technical Skills: Comfortable using a tablet for E-Logs and other documentation. Transboundary Experience: Previous transboundary experience is a plus, or a willingness to gain this experience.
