Candidates must also have excellent negotiation and communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.Your responsibilities:Supports the Managing Director in resolving non-performing loans with the objective of maximizing returns for fund investorsWorking with the Managing Director, develops and assesses potential restructuring options and strategies, supported by appropriate financial analysis and due diligenceParticipates in negotiations with borrower management and other stakeholdersPrepares credit submissionsWorking with the Managing Director and external legal counsel, reviews loan amendments, forbearance agreements and other legal documentsAssists the deal team with reviewing loan agreements on new loan originationsAssists the Managing Director with portfolio reporting and ad hoc initiativesShares knowledge and collaborates with deal teams and risk management on potential problem loans or loan issuesMust have requirements to be successful in this role:Undergraduate degree in business or financeFive to eight years and related experience in the Canadian debt market with a recent focus on special loan management or restructuring advisory as well as a strong background in credit assessment, transaction structuring and documentationStrategic and entrepreneurial vision with creative problem-solving abilitiesAttention to detail with an ability to prioritize and make decisions in a timely matterAdvanced financial analysis skills, including the building of robust cash flow forecasts and financial modelsKnowledge of laws governing restructuring and insolvencyProfessional designation an asset, e.g., CPA, CIRP or LITStrong interpersonal and negotiation skillsGood oral and written communicationProficiency in English and French (oral and written) is an assetOccasional travel required
