Reporting to the Recreation Supervisor, the Camp Photographer & Content Creation Counsellor is responsible for capturing photographs and videos of the Camp experience. This includes taking action, candid, and landscape photos and videos that follow media guidelines outlined by the Communications Department. The Photographer ensures that all campers are photographed, photos and videos are reviewed, and media is organized and uploaded on regular basis in a secure fashion. They must be aware of the media consent status of campers and ensures that specific photo requests are secured.  Summary of Essential Job Functions Develop photo and media goals that align with Easter Seals Ontario’s camp mission, values, and objectives. Complete an inventory of photography/video equipment upon arrival and before departure from camp. Maintain cameras, memory cards, batteries, chargers, and editing devices; report repair needs or damaged equipment to the Recreation Supervisor promptly. Capture photos and video content that reflect Easter Seals Ontario’s standards for safety, privacy, accessibility, and representation. Collaborate closely with the Camp Life & Inclusion Head to produce high-quality content for slideshows, family session photos, and the Easter Seals Ontario Communication team to use throughout the year in camp marketing materials.  Collect two camper profiles per session, including completing the camper profile form and capturing a small set of photos for each featured camper, and submit all materials to the Communications Team at the end of each session. Capture and organize high-quality photos for each session, ensuring all images are sorted by session and that campers with No Photo permissions are removed prior to upload.  Provide approved photos to the Communications Team regularly throughout the season and upload them to Flickr as directed. Engage with campers throughout the day and provide support when not photographing, including assisting with safe lifts and transfers. Actively participate in general camp life and cultivate a positive, welcoming presence around campers and staff. Photograph families and the overall arrival experience on check-in days. Create weekly photo schedules to ensure all cabins, program areas, and special events are represented equitably. Produce end-of-session camper and staff slideshows as keepsakes for each session. Film and edit short daily activity videos for the Communications Team to post on the Easter Seals Ontario website or social media platforms. Organize, label, and store photos/video files for offseason marketing, ensuring proper categorization and easy access. Adhere to and support all camp policies, procedures and guidelines as detailed in the Camp Resource Manual. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or Communications Team.  Physical Aspects of the Job Ability to communicate and work with groups and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff. Excellent time-management, scheduling, and reporting skills.  Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers. Able to manage lifting, some bending, stooping, and stretching as well as daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions. Minimum Requirements Minimum age: 18 years.  1+ years of photography and media content creation experience.  Previous experience in a camp, recreation, or childcare setting an asset.  Applicants selected for an interview will be required to provide a portfolio of 25+ photos and/or media content creation pieces.  Familiarity with programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite, and Apple iMovie are preferred.  Must provide clear background check completed within 1 year of the start date of the contract.  Other Considerations Easter Seals Ontario camps are fully accessible and provide camping experiences to kids and young adults with disabilities. It is recommended that all staff be fully vaccinated against communicable illnesses including Covid19 and Measles. Easter Seals Ontario staff will follow the health and safety recommendations provided by Provincial and Regional Health Units.  Model active participation in camp life by engaging in activities where possible, while balancing role responsibilities and deliverables.  Onsite housing provided for camping season; meals provided during camp sessions.  June – August up to eight-day work period, 24 hours/day on call with scheduled breaks throughout the session and a minimum of 3 days off between sessions.
