As one of the world’s largest and most experienced credit managers globally, we deliver flexible, specialized capital solutions to borrowers, and attractive risk-adjusted returns to our investors.Position Summary:The Loan Servicing Senior Operations Analyst is responsible for the Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting for the Mortgage and Real Estate portfolios of our Credit and Insurance clients. The position is key to successfully facilitating a SOC 1 controlled environment and will be a key contributor of our growing credit operations team and will report to the Director, Mortgage Loan Servicing. The role will be based in Brookfield’s Toronto office at Brookfield Place. Responsibilities:Assists with training and mentorship efforts for junior team members.Makes recommendations and leads efforts to improve upon the service levels of the Commercial Mortgage Loan Servicing Operations team and the broader Investments Department.Manages, coordinates and monitors the timely collection of all due diligence for the closing process and responsible for onboarding new and processing ongoing life cycle activity related to Mortgage Loans.Performs and analyzes monthly reconciliation of principal to correspondents.Completes and evaluates quarterly correspondent certification review and reconciliations.Maximizes the integrity and utilization of information entered into the Loan Servicing system for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.Ensure timely recording of data to facilitate regulatory requirements.Evaluates and updates control documentation for the various mortgage loan processes.Creates and evaluates reports for distribution to Senior Management, Underwriters, Investment department and rating agencies.Works collaboratively with IT to develop, automate and maintain reports.Works with outside parties to facilitate issue resolution.Performs other related work as required.Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in commercial real estate, finance or related field of study from leading institution3+ years relevant work experience – commercial mortgage loan closing, accounting, reporting and portfolio analysis or related experience.Master in Finance or Accounting, CPA, MBA and/or CFA is a plusKnowledge of the investment industry, including financial data management and reporting as well as applicable laws, rules and regulations.Excellent judgement and analytical skills combined with attention to detail and thoroughnessExcellent organizational skills to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines while meeting timelines within a fast-paced work environmentStrong communication skills with the ability to present clearly and offer practical adviceSelf-motivated and proactive with the ability to operate independentlyAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents from regulatory agencies, and other members of the business community.Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Proficient with Aladdin, Precision LM, MS Access, Microsoft Excel and Word.Ability to identify technological and other opportunities that will improve processing efficiencies and work product.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels in the organization and customers, and other outside third parties, including auditors, correspondents, underwriting & closing staff, and third-party reinsurance staffTeam-oriented with a commitment to shared successHigh degree of professional ethics and integrity
