We are hiring for the position of Intermediate Engineer in the Civil, Geological, and Geotechnical areas at our North Bay, Ontario, Canada office. We offer unique opportunities to work on projects around the world. An ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Geological or Civil Engineering. The applicant must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO. A minimum of 5 years of experience related to mining, hydropower and/or infrastructure project development with a strong background in geotechnical analysis is required. The successful applicant will play a key role in a variety of mining and hydropower projects and must be able to work with multi-disciplinary teams. This position includes opportunities for domestic and international travel and will involve field assignments.  Responsibilities may include the following: Planning and participating in geotechnical/hydrogeological site investigation programs Completing geotechnical and/or civil engineering analyses and design Overseeing construction projects Coordinating technical work within several disciplines and groups Project management activities Writing technical reports Preparing detailed proposals and schedules Mentoring and training junior and intermediate staff Current assignments that the successful candidate may be involved with include tailings dams, geotechnical support to operating underground and open pit mines, mine infrastructure, water retaining dams, pipelines, and hydropower facilities.
