Our passion for our craft fuels every project we touch.JOB OVERVIEWDo you have at least 4 years of work experience in aviation?Do you enjoy troubleshooting and coordinating?The Liaison Engineer reports to the Repair Engineering Manager in Kelowna (YLW). The qualified individual will be responsible for being the primary focal point for production (maintenance) operation for engineering related issues at our Hamilton base (YHM) and for liaising with appropriate departments and organizations for resolution. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the primary focal point for production operation regarding engineering related issues in YHM. Provides engineering support as required for disposition of discrepant conditions affecting aircraft or components in order to restore serviceable status, including assisting with interpretation of the aircraft manufacturer’s repair manuals, drawings and other repair instructions. Responds to requests from maintenance when technical assistance is required to support projects or resolve problems. Co-ordinates transfers of information from YHM to YLW Engineering as required.Works in close co-operation with YLW Engineering. Researches and develops repair proposals for structural defects, corrosion, or service damage and liaise with the aircraft manufacturer during the submission and review for concurrence, if/ as required. Maintains knowledge of current and pending regulations which affect areas of responsibility and ensures that all Engineering actions maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Keep the repair engineering manager informed of daily operations. All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Completion of a degree from a recognized Canadian secondary institution in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering.Minimum 4 years of Liaison Engineering experience in the aviation industry required; 7 years or more is preferredFamiliarity with the structural design philosophy and primary and secondary structure repair methodology for Boeing or Airbus commercial aircraft preferred. Should have the ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision making while mitigating risk factors. Should possess a thorough understanding of maintenance requirements, processes and procedures. Should posses a thorough knowledge of aircraft materials and hardware as well as aeronautical Engineering standards and specifications. Competence in Auto CAD and Microsoft Office to a sufficient level to perform the day to day tasks. Must be self motivated and disciplined in their work ethic.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, couple with a high sense of commitment, and a willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently in a high-pressure team environment. Willing to work extra hours when required. Ability to work as a team member and respond positively to instructions. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while performing tasks accurately. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; as well as good research skills. Must be a strong supporter of continuous improvement efforts. BENEFITSFull-Time staff benefits include (but are not limited to):Health and DentalShort & Long-Term DisabilityLife InsuranceHealth Spending AccountPersonal (Wellness) Spending AccountPaid vacation and Personal time offThe opportunity to bank overtimePension matching plan and voluntary RRSPEmployee & Family Assistance ProgramFree financial adviceA bonus program based on organizational performanceSALARYThe salary range for this role is $84,000 – $105,000 annually for those candidates with at least 4 years of relevant experience (higher salary for those with more than 7 years of relevant experience). The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band.
