Main Duties and Competencies The Senior INTools Wiring Designer participates in all areas and phases of small and mid-sized projects from inception to completion. This position reports into the project development team with heavy interaction with Electrical and Controls Engineering team. As a senior member of the team, the individual will be responsible for: Design layout and location drawings Design Wiring and Loop Drawing with the use of SPI (INTools) Maintain project deliverable using SmartPlant Instrumentation tools Prepare Bills of Material Design layout and location drawings as required Review SPI Redline incorporation (As-Builts) of Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets, Instrument Loop Drawings, Instrumentation Ensure all drawings are in agreement with the latest vendor print Perform other duties as requested Ability to meet safety requirements to attend site visits Design Panel Strip Reports, and Foundation Fieldbus Segments in an accurate and timely manner Ensure all drawings and materials are in accordance with the specifications and standards, including applicable codes and regulations Requirements Engineering degree/Technology certification in Instrumentation/Controls or Electrical 5 years or more of experience as an Instrument/Control System Designer position in the Oil and Gas industry Experience in Instrumentation and Control design including 2D CADD, and 3D Modeling (PDS and PDMS) Minimum three (3) years of solid experience on Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) at a super-user level Working knowledge of SPI administration’s role and its interface with SPI super-user. Operate with minimal supervision Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team including Project, Control System and Electrical CET, RET OR Registration with APEGA or P.Eng. is preferred Strong analytical, communication (oral & written) and troubleshooting skills Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines This position requires strong written and verbal communication What we Offer At Firebag Technical Solutions we believe people who contribute to our success should be rewarded for the value they create.
