Driving Compliance Excellence As a Regulatory Compliance Manager, you will assist with the development, execution, and oversight of Home Hardware’s enterprise regulatory compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and promote a strong culture of compliance. Led by the Director, Regulatory Compliance, this opportunity will suit someone with superior interpersonal, research and analytical skills. Ready to make an impact? Here’s how: Working with the Director, Regulatory Compliance, to assist with the development and implementation of Regulatory Compliance and Data Privacy Frameworks to support enterprise compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Develop and maintain oversight mechanisms, including compliance assessments, to monitor and verify compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, identify and track business risks or areas of improvement through corrective action plans. Monitor regulatory changes as part of Home Hardware’s Legal Watch program and assess and track proposed controls and implementation plans. Assist with the development and regular review of enterprise policies, processes, procedures, and templates. Contribute to material project and change initiatives by promoting compliance and privacy-by-design and evaluating regulatory and data privacy risks and control measures through the approval of Regulatory and Privacy Impact Assessments. Oversee the investigation of regulatory compliance and data privacy incidents and complaints, manage the incident response plan and direct postmortem activities, including corrective action plans. Collaborate with and provide expert advice and recommendations on all regulatory and data privacy matters and reinforce team members’ ownership and accountability of compliance requirements. Provide training and awareness to team members and facilitate workshops to address business trends and evaluate top and emerging regulatory and data privacy risks. We’re looking for: Post Secondary education with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Compliance Manager or similar role. In depth knowledge and practical application of Canadian privacy legislation, concepts, and best practices. A CIPP/C is preferred and/or willingness to attain. Experience initiating change initiatives with large cross-functional impact. Familiarity with risk management techniques, including assessments, monitoring, control design and control effectiveness. Self-motivated with superior research, analysis, and reporting skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the business and leadership forums. Exceptional communication skills, both in written and oral form, with ability to effectively communicate recommendations, influence outcomes and clarify complex or ambiguous privacy requirements. The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
