Job Overview:Position(s): Field Mechanic Shift Schedule: 21 days on, 7 days off Start Time: 7:00AM Location: Alberta & SaskatchewanForbes Bros Ltd. is currently looking for an experienced and skilled Field Mechanic (full-time, permanent) to join our team in Alberta and Saskatchewan. This is a rotational position which will require extensive travel (up to 75%) between Alberta and Saskatchewan.The Field Mechanic maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment at the project site. This role is accountable to ensure vehicle documentation is correct, regulatory requirements are met, and all documentation is in place before vehicles or equipment are issued. The successful candidate will demonstrate prior experience of having worked within a heavy equipment shop environment in addition to strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.What We Offer:Competitive Hourly Wage ($55 - $65/ hour)Comprehensive health benefits plan Enrolment in Pension ProgramPaid Vacation Days and Stat Holiday Pay Meal and Accommodation Allowance Annual boot allowance of $250 & annual clothing allowance of up to $900Company assigned vehicle, gas card, credit card, phone and laptopFamily orientated working environment Opportunities for career growth and development Key Responsibilities:Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasks Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems and components on a variety of equipment including but not limited to tractor-trailer units and large commercial vehiclesConduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspectionsAssist with troubleshooting of electrical systems and componentsMaintain service truck and keep stocked with tools and spare partsAssist with the start-up and commissioning of new project sites Responsible for maintaining the service truck log books/Tailboards/Safety paperworkResponsible for creating and updating work orders within Viewpoint/Sent to Fleet ManagerMaintain shop tools and work areaMay be required to perform duties outside of normal responsibilities from time to time, as neededAssisting with other operational tasks, as required What We Are Looking For:Minimum three (3) + years related experience as at least one of the following is required: Heavy Equipment Technician or Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Off Road), Heavy Equipment Technician – Truck and Transport MechanicClass 5 Drivers License is required, Class 1 or 3 is an assetAble and willing to travel to various project sites across Alberta and Saskatchewan Familiarity with Federal and Provincial regulationsAbility to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment leveraging excellence in time managementStrong written, oral communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentPhysically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy liftingAble and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's Abstract Disclaimer: As per client/site requirements, candidates may be required to undergo pre-access screening.
