Your JobDarkVision is seeking a Cloud (ML) Infrastructure Engineer, you will build and maintain cloud infrastructure to support cutting edge machine learning and signal processing research as well as production workloads at scale. You will proactively enhance the tools and processes to achieve excellence in reliability, efficiency, observability and security. You will promote DevOps and MLOps best practices to accelerate research and development. And you will spearhead cross-functional projects and serve as the bridge between software engineering, ML research, and data science.This regular full-time position is on-site in our HQ in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, and moreOur TeamWith the largest ultrasound datasets globally, DarkVision's Research & Innovation team unites top-tier PhDs, engineers, and research scientists to pioneer automated image processing and deep learning architectures.You will be a part of the Machine Learning Team and work closely with Machine Learning DevOps Engineers, Machine Learning Scientists, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers.What You Will DoDevelop and maintain cloud infrastructure to support research and production batch processing workloadsBuild automation, CI/CD, and release managementOptimize ML models and classical algorithms to run efficiently and robustlyIntroduce and promote ML Ops best practices to accelerate research using modern tooling such as DVC, WandB, etc.Collaborate with software engineers for continuous improvement of end-to-end products from hardware tool to customerWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or MathematicsAt least 3 years of professional experience in a DevOps, MLOps, or Software Engineering roleAt least 3 years of experience developing and managing Cloud Infrastructure on AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)Knowledge of System Design, common architectural patterns and trade-offs, particularly cloud-native development in the context of data-intensive, large-scale workloads.Experience administering Kubernetes and related tools (e.g. Helm, Karpenter, Traefik) to support production workloadsProficiency in Python programmingFamiliarity with Linux and Shell ScriptingWhat Will Put You AheadHaving shipped at least one complex software product and supported it in production for real customersData Science skills (Prefect, NumPy, Pandas/Polars, SciPy, Matplotlib)Knowledge of databases, SQL vs NoSQL, data pipelines, and data governanceBackground in ML, especially in Computer Vision for engineering applicationsEducational background or work experience in ultrasound, signal processing, or similarExperience managing hybrid or on-prem infrastructureOutstanding technical communication, analysis and problem-solving abilitiesGeneral Salary RangeFor this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 to $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. Additionally, everyone has individual work and personal needs.
