Join us in delivering sustainable water management, integrating your innovative ideas into projects that make a lasting impact.The OpportunityIn this new role, AECOM is seeking a creative and highly talented Water Project Manager to join our Drinking Water team, supporting the delivery of major water treatment plant and pumping station projects.You will have a successful track record in the design and construction phases of municipal water treatment, pumping and related infrastructure. You will work in a team environment to deliver advanced water treatment and large pumping station projects to our client base in Ontario.The responsibilities of this position include:Creativity and Problem-Solving:Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual challenges related to project delivery, technical requirements, and client needs.Develop technical objectives, organize programs, and establish standards and guides for engineering activities. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.Engineering Design and Analysis:Perform assignments requiring the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out tasks effectively.Undertake preliminary and detailed engineering design activities, including developing drawings, reports, schematics, and technical specifications.Complete technical calculations to support design decisions and ensure precision in engineering solutions. Prepare comprehensive technical reports and analyses to support project assignmentsReview quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy, ensuring alignment with project goals.Project Delivery and ManagementCollaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, ensuring seamless communication with team members and clients.Lead and coordinate the work of a multi-discipline team of engineers to achieve project objectives. Ability to foster collaboration within teams and across disciplines. Oversee the financial health of projects, including routine internal and external reporting.Perform project management duties related to financial reporting both internally and externally, tracking progress with schedules, and resource allocation.Ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to ensure project delivery and profitability goals are met.Client Engagement and Business DevelopmentSupport the delivery of infrastructure projects to municipal and private clients, with a focus on water and wastewater systems.Pursue and deliver new water projects, fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Support key project pursuits and business development within the municipal market.Actively engage in professional development activities and participate in industry events to stay updated on trends and innovations.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process)2+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in the municipal water/wastewater industry· Registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of ON (or eligible to become registered within 12 months)Preferred Requirements10+ years of progressive Water experienceMaster’s Degree Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process)Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skillsMotivated, team player, independent, organized with strong business acumenExperience working in the consulting industry and with project management concepts, principles, and dutiesExpertise in municipal water infrastructure design and delivery. Good working knowledge of industry standard and local municipal standards and guidelines are considered an asset Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.Ability to foster collaboration within teams and across disciplines.
