As we focus on project delivery, clients and staff, we have several working options available for working at Morrison Hershfield.Morrison Hershfield's Transportation Division provides planning, design and construction administration services for roadway, highway, transit/rail, bridge and related projects. We are currently seeking a Junior Inspector to conduct field work to complement our transportation team. The Junior Inspector will play a lead role in the delivery of assignments primarily for public sector clients. Due to expanding business opportunities in Ontario and elsewhere within the company, this position offers growth in the areas of technical/professional development and project management.Responsibilities:Carries out inspection activities to ensure conformanceConducts site surveys, obtaining relevant information, equipment and materialsSearches for physical survey evidence (building ties, monuments, fences, etc.) and determines whether or not existing survey evidence sufficesObtains additional survey evidence as necessary and determines when enough information has been obtainedAnalyzes situations or data from which answers are easily obtained using standard procedure and practiceAssists to compile field data in report form for review of project designerQualifications:A post secondary diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology / Technician or equivalentDesignation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Junior Inspector (rcji) Technology/Technician is an assetPrevious engineering/construction experience is an assetPrior experience working on MTO projects or municipal infrastructure projectsEither registration as a as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. or Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO Strong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentAble to work on weekends, nights, shift work, additional hours as requiredProficiency with MS OfficeA valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicleAble to travel and work in the Greater Toronto and surrounding areaJob Type:RegularJob Profile: For internal useField Technical IAttention Staffing & Recruitment Agencies: Morrison Hershfield will not pay fees for recruitment activities related to the hiring of a candidate unless a written service agreement has been established between a duly authorized representative of our Corporate Human Resources department and the recruitment/placement firm.
