About the roleWe’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team in the Lab.What you'll do here:Design and develop end-to-end AI solutions to tacklereal businesscases.Lead the exploration, implementation, and testing of new NLP solutions.Transform complex and unstructured data into actionable insights and outcomes.Use analytics to understand software usage patterns and give recommendations on improvements Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.Collaborate with data scientists, developers, designers, in a cross-functional team to build software in AWS.Act as atechnical lead and reference for data science team.Coach and mentor junior members of the teamLead and enforce data science best practices: coding, peer-review, experimentation and testing.What you bring to the table:Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (computer science, mathematics, AI, engineering, or a related field), or any combination of equivalent education and experience.At least 5 years of experience in data science applications and product development, with a strong focus on NLP and machine learning.Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) - integrating with APIs and evaluation techniques.Experience with developing, deploying, and maintaining software in cloud environments (strong preference for AWS).Multi-platform production experience with the following: Python, GitHub, AWS, and CI/CD tools.Expert-level understanding of the underlying theory of machine learning.Can focus on vaguely defined issues requiring the application of a creative approach.Ability to collaborate with others and to coach junior members of staff.Enthusiasm for teamwork.Strong communication, time management and work organization skills.No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.What we offer Our hybrid work model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.Working here means you'll be empowered to be and do your best every day.
